Meet Anna and Desley - Our April Spotlight Members!
Q: What made you join IRI Shopper Panel?
Anna: I wanted to share what grocery items I bought.
Desley: My sister has been a member for many years in Bisbane. She told me about it and said it was great. You just scan all your shopping and accumulate points and it helps businesses to keep track of current shopping activities.
Q: What do you like most about IRI Shopper Panel?
Anna: Scanning my shopping and letting manufacturers know what I like or dislike, and receiving points.
Desley: Well it's quite easy to do, and you do get rewarded for your effort. It's also interactive, which I like.
Q: Do you have any tips or tricks you can share with us about scanning or other aspects of panel membership that could help other members?
Anna: Wish I did, but not so.
Desley: If I have shopping from a few stores, I place everything in groups with the bar code facing, scan and tick off the receipt as I go. I found it being the quickest way.
Q: What was the last gift that you redeemed from our gift shop?
Anna: $100 gift card
Desley: I was able to redeem $280 in gift vouchers from JB Hi Fi and get an Apple pencil and a bit off the cost for an iPad. I am very happy with that!
Q: Any funny or weird story you can share with us that happened while shopping?
Anna: After shopping, my mum and I sat down for burgers at McDonalds, with her removing her dentures because they hurt her. They were wrapped in a serviette and tossed in the bin after clearing the table. Cleaner kept telling me to get out of the bin, but eventually another lady helped me find them.
Desley: Once, I noticed someone acting a bit suspicious around the ladies hair products and sprays. This was in St Kilda in the evening years ago. This guy was opening up the lids and spraying. I saw him, he saw me. Then, after a while he says, "I know you’re a store detective, watching me and I don’t care." Then, he just took off. It was a funny story to tell. Maybe I should be a store detective.
